2000
By 2000, the only adults included were in Culture, Arctic Sports and Dene Games. Chukotka, Russia was invited to participate in the 2000 Games held in Whitehorse, Yukon. Nunavut joined as a permanent partner and participated in some of the 19 sports including, alpine skiing, snowboarding, badminton, basketball, cross country skiing, curling, Dene Games, dog mushing, figure skating, gymnastics, hockey, indoor soccer, Inuit Games, ski biathlon, snowshoe biathlon, snowshoeing, speed skating, volleyball and wrestling. CBC became a significant sponsor in both television and radio.
