The 1976 Arctic Winter Games were held in Schefferville, Northern Quebec just four years after the contingent first participated in the AWG. Four contingents, Alaska, Northwest Territories, Northern Quebec and Yukon participated in 13 sports including, badminton, basketball, cross country skiing, curling, figure skating, hockey, Inuit Games, judo, shooting, snowshoeing, table tennis, volleyball and wrestling.
