Team Nunavut
Prior to 2000, Nunavut participated in every Arctic Winter Games as part of Team Northwest Territories. Since that time, it has become a permanent member. In 2002 Nunavut, for the first time hosted the Games in Iqaluit, along with co-host Nuuk, Greenland. In 2016 Nunavut hosted the Hockey portion of the games.
Nunavut is Canada’s newest territory, created from the division of the Northwest Territories in 1999. Nunavut is an area characterized by vast tracts of Canadian Shield and tundra, as well as most of Canada’s Arctic Archipelago.
The team colours are red, yellow and blue.
